POSSESSED BY PASSIONS RUN RIOT!!
One of the most prolific women filmmakers in the history of American cinema, writer-director-editor Wishman created DIY collisions between surrealism and exploitation that make disorienting style and gutter poetry out of meagre resources.
In Bad Girls Go To Hell, Boston housewife Meg (the inimitable Gigi Darlene) flees to the big city after killing her rapist, only to find that NYC is another kind of hell. In high-contrast black & white, Bad Girls portrays a nightmarish cycle of violence and retribution through dizzying camerawork and disembodied voice-overs. Lacy lingerie, noir-lit bedsits, and a scuzzy New York skyline bring to life this young woman’s flight from fate in the big bad city. Experience Wishman's unique, empathetic, and truly strange vision on her most famous film's 60th anniversary!
